That's when I will walk you through the experience, pricing, answer your questions and will guide you through the online booking process.

This is when baby has established good feeding schedule and back up to birth weight, but is still super sleepy during the day, and all curled up from the womb. It allows for the best posing and smoother sessions.

From the comfort of your own home, customize your session to the looks you love most by selecting from images that showcase our variety in colors, poses and props available in my studio inventory for a newborn session. Depending on how early you book your session - the more creative freedom we may have to custom order special items.
You will also see example of how you may want to style your own look for the session, and I am available for any questions or guidance you may need.
PLANNING YOUR SESSION
If there are young siblings attending the session, we typically do the sibling & family photographs first. We have amble area for sitting during the rest of the session (plus a play room). There are also places around City Center for a parent to pick up food for the siblings to eat while waiting.

Once you have made your selections, your selected image will be edited and delivered digital in a gallery link for easy download (within 3 weeks). Any products ordered will be designed once the images are edited, and can take up to 6 weeks to be custom-made and shipped to my studio for you to pick-up.

when to book your newborn session
Due to the tentative nature of a new baby's arrival, newborn sessions are scheduled in the following manner:
- BOOKING IN ADVANCE WITH DUE DATE PLACEHOLDER: If you are currently pregnant with Baby, your due date is used as a placeholder on the studio calendar. The due date placeholder is not your session date or time, as babies are often early or even late. A placeholder ensures I always know how many newborns are on the calendar at one time. Submit the $200 session retainer and agreement so you have top priority on the calendar. I will follow up with an message (unless you let me know first) when baby arrives to schedule the session date, so you have priority.
- Once Baby is born, we will talk about your preferred date/time to photograph baby, preferably in the first 14 days of life. The balance of your selected package will be due 3 days prior to your session, unless you have a payment plan already in place.
- If Baby is already born and you're not booking while pregnant, book with baby’s birth date. The agreement and $200 session retainer are also due immediately. Please double-check that Baby fits into the timelines in which we accept newborn sessions to have a successful session. If you have an older baby, please contact me to chat about options for newborn or a milestone session.

Three days before your session, a new invoice for the remaining balance is due.
You will be required to pay the entire session amount upon booking - if you are booking with less than three days' notice.
Please note that a credit card processing fee of 3.5% percent is applied to all packages.
If product is ordered, Virginia Sales Tax will be added to all physical product orders at a 6% rate per Virginia Law.

In-Studio Wrapped & Posed Newborn Photography Packages
Newborn sessions occur only in our studio in City Center, in Oyster Pointe District. We recommend booking your session when baby is as new as possible for best experience with posing when baby is still extra sleepy and use to being wrapped and posed for all those newborn poses.
Our preferred dates to see you are in the first 14 days of life, with these early days acting as the most successful time for photographing a new baby. The studio does not offer in-home newborn or family photography sessions.
My fourth baby was a NICU baby, so I take great care to consider the scheduling of each baby, especially having any unique circumstance for Premie and Pre-Term Babies.
Which Newborn Session Is Right For You?
We know that newborn photography is not a one-size fits all experience. That is why we offer multiple newborn session packages with options for parent, sibling and grandparent images as well as a large variety of poses and props to truly style every session specifically to each clients preferences.
The studio provides all props, setups and accessories, and has a studio wardrobe available for use. All you need to bring is your baby and how you are feeding them. Props, accessories, and all setups are sanitized between uses.
Upon booking, you will receive questionnaires for information about baby as well as your preference in styling the newborn session. You will also receive an in-depth prep guide to successfully prepare you and Baby for their first photoshoot!
With over 30+ years of working with babies and children, we have learned a thing or two. We have put all that knowledge into our very thorough prep guide will direct you on how to have the most successful newborn session possible.
We're committed to making your photography experience as smooth and personalized as possible.
If you are only interest in photos of baby, we have our So Cosy Package that is designed for parents who would like a smaller package focusing specifically on their new addition; however, if you would like to participate, we have other packages that include parents and sibling, with an upgrade to include grandparent images.
We classify the newborn photography experience into four categories: Wrapped, Posed, Prop and Portrait.
Our Newborn Packages branch into two groups:
Our So Cosy Package is a Wrapped Baby Only Session that can feature Baby in certain props or on a color fabric drop. These images will not allow for Baby to be un-wrapped for posing.
If you are looking for images of baby to be posed unwrapped or want to include family portraits - we offer two packages for this - please consider one of our 4 other packages. These can cover several setups: the entire family, Mom with Baby, Dad with Baby, Sibling with Baby, Mom with the little ones, Dad with the little ones, and more
Grandparents can be added at an additional cost to these sessions to create some truly memorable images for you to cherish for a lifetime!

At this time your baby is still pretty flexible and sleepy for those precious newborn poses. We have photographed many newborns up to 6 weeks of age. Don't worry if your newborn is a little older! We can still capture beautiful images of your baby. Newborn sessions span up to 2.5 hours depending on the package you select. We provide everything for the session so you wont need to bring anything but the diaper bag and the baby. We offer multiple newborn packages so there is something for everyone.
